Chelsea have completed the signing of Sandy Baltimore on a free transfer after the French forward left Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

WHAT HAPPENED?
The Blues have snapped up the 24-year-old France international on a four-year contract. The west London side will hope Baltimore can strengthen their attack as they enter a new era under coach Sonia Bompastor, who replaced iconic manager Emma Hayes this summer.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Baltimore left PSG after nine years with the club in which time she won the Division 1 Feminine as well as three Coupe de France titles. They also reached the Women's Champions League final in 2016-17. Baltimore scored seven times in 16 appearances in the league last season as they finished second behind Lyon.

Baltimore, who made her senior France debut in 2020, revealed that the move to the Stamford Bridge club is a dream come true, saying: "I'm very happy to join Chelsea. It feels incredible. I have always wanted to play for Chelsea and now look, it has happened!"

WHAT NEXT FOR CHELSEA?
Baltimore will join up with her new team-mates before they begin their pre-season preparations with a match against Gotham FC in the United States, which will be followed by a friendly against Arsenal. The new WSL season begins on September 21.
